Wherever I find myself, I have always loved finding unusual home accessories and pieces of furniture. Whether it be a quirky single handblown glass or a large hand carved antique dresser, I always find myself drawn to finding something out of the ordinary that has had a past life and is ready to move on to a new life and have its beauty appreciated all over again.

My love for this led me to jobs in event design and jobs working in interiors and buying.

I decided to start 'By Alice' so I can work with clients one to one and have no parameters on what I source whilst being able to travel and find new craftsmen and artisans from around the globe and be able to bring their work back here!

On my online shop, you will be able to find pieces both old and new available and should you not find what you are looking for, I also offer a sourcing service where I can find you whatever you are searching for, from linen and glassware to vintage or new furniture. I am also available for consulting and commissions.

Our Ethos

Approximately 22 million pieces of furniture are discarded each year in the UK, and the majority of this furniture is sent directly to landfill. We believe in reducing waste by sourcing beautifully made, stylish, hand picked pieces that have a lot of life left in them, pieces that can be re-loved in a new home. Some pieces are restored, some lacquered and some are just perfect as they are.

We believe that pieces you buy, should be beautiful, investment pieces that carry longevity and we encourage you to give them lifelong love!

We also work alongside artisans who are continuing to keep crafts alive and are skilled individuals who take the utmost pride in their work. Working in good conditions and paid fairly, the quality of their work is long lasting, and we hope our new pieces will be passed on through generations.

We do not work with large mass producers, where working conditions are unethical and where people are treated as merely numbers to churn out cheap disposable goods.

We can all make small changes, so before you buy something, we believe it is important to please question where it has come from and whether it is something you will hold on to!
